Chest / bust: measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level without pulling it tight.
Waist: measure around your natural waist.
Hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Sleeve reference: measure the sleeve of a jacket that fits you comfortably, from the shoulder seam to the cuff.
Garment reference: lay a similar jacket flat and measure its width from armpit to armpit and its back length from the base of the collar to the hem.
